Tom Peters states Memorial is, "not you're typical community hospital . . . it offers a culture of innovation that can meet the many challenges, even the tough and thorny issues of healthcare delivery and education". As one of the leading healthcare organizations in the United States, Memorial has been a pioneer in the healthy community movement, establishing quality and safety improvement methodologies and is one of the first hospitals in the United States to establish an Innovation Policy. Phil Newbold, Memorial's CEO for the last 20 years has also lead the organization in being named one of the Top 100 Hospitals and one of the top 5% safest hospitals in the United States in 2006, and consistently a Consumer Choice Award recipient.
Phil is a native Buckeye, having graduated from Ohio State University (BA and MS) and Miami University (MBA) and was a senior executive at St. Lukes Hospital in Cleveland before going on to become the CEO of Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Phil has many roles: husband, father of three children, active community leader, triathlete and frequent author and speaker on many emerging healthcare trends.
The challenges facing the healthcare leadership today will not be solved with the solutions and the knowledge of today and yesterday. Simply stated, we must radically reimagine, reinvent, and redesign every aspect of healthcare and healthcare delivery if we are going to be increasingly successful in meeting the challenges of organizations and communities.
Successful leaders understand the power of igniting passion and energy throughout an organization. Benefits include the ability to differentiate increased flexibility and resilience and enhanced feelings of pride and ownership.
This session will focus on proven performance and a demonstrated track record of the most innovative thinking in America that is currently being successfully implemented in today's healthcare organizations. Additionally, you will learn about how staging an overall experience allows great opportunity for new pricing strategies, new distribution strategies and overall improved customer acquisition and retention.
You'll come away with a fresh understanding of how moving beyond a "service" to an "experience" can have a positive impact for customers and staff. If you are curious about the potential impact of principles developed by experts such as Tom Peters, Steven Covey, Joe Pine and Jim Gilmore, IDEO and Doblin, this session promises to be unlike any that you have recently heard.
